YOU CAN TOUCH MY HAIR

(special message for all the black mamas)

 Nós vamos tentar aligeirar o assunto, já que está a ser tão debatido do outro do mundo, onde os sonhos são realizados, se é de bom tom ou não tocar no cabelo dos outros, principalmente se for o dito cabelo natural ou aquele cabelo comprado na loja x do tio S no Martim Moniz...

 Mais uma vez, vamos ter que invocar a nostalgia da infância, onde nos perguntavam se podiam tocar nos nossos cabelos, e aclamavam de sorriso nos olhos, que os nossos cabelos eram de algodão e que não precisávamos de almofada para dormir (tontinhos...). Desde tenra idade que os olhos se colocaram em nós e o tom de curiosidade fora aumentando e acompanhando a evolução do nosso magic frô!

O que não deixa de acontecer é a proclamação de inferioridade da nossa parte para com os outros. Ir para a rua com um cartaz que diga “you can touch my hair”, em terras de Clinton, é sinónimo de ridicularizarão, de inferioridade, de brincadeira sem sentido e de desrespeito para o povo afro-americano. Nós achamos, sim, que em terras de Clinton ou em terras de Coelho, ir para a rua com um cartaz que diga “you can touch my hair” é uma forma simples de quebrar barreiras, é uma forma de dignificar o que nos foi herdado, mas em terras de Clinton, infelizmente, não é assim que se pensa.... no meio de tanto desenvolvimento tecnológico, peca a falta de moralidade.

 Sejamos verdadeiros e digamos os nomes como eles são... se fosse uma mulher branca com um cartaz a dizer “you can touch my hair”, muitos de nós estaríamos a rir e a perguntar – o que é que a louca está a fazer?! Go home girl, you don’t have nothing to do? Mas como não é o caso, as vozes são criticas e as palavras de injúria. You can touch my hair quando quiseres, basta perguntar antes de tocar... é uma questão de educação e de respeito para com a pessoa. Muitas vezes estas perguntas são colocadas por pessoas curiosas que nunca tocaram e/ou nunca viram alguém usar o cabelo tal e qual como ele nasceu...sem químicos ou adereços que lhes confiram outra forma sem ser a natural. 

Let's be real and say the names as they are ... if it was a white woman with a sign saying "you can touch my hair" we'd be a lot of laughing and asking - what is this mad doing?! Go home girl, you do not have nothing to do? But such is not the case, the voices are critical and reviling words. You can touch my hair whenever you want, just ask before touching ... is a matter of education and respect for the person. Often these questions are asked by curious people who have never played and / or have never seen someone wear your hair just like he was born ... without chemicals or props that give them no other way to be natural.

O problema não está no cabelo. O problema está..lá dentro...na cabeça das pessoas!
