Curly Essence

 Muit@s de nós (o @ é propositado  visto que, acreditamos que a team back to our roots não é composta essencialmente pelo género feminino) debruçamo-nos em algumas questões - Porquê só agora? Porquê que ter de deixar o meu cabelo "au naturale", passou a ser uma opção? Porquê que existem tantas questões e tanto estigma em relação a algo que deveria ser bem aceite? No fundo nós nunca pensámos que quer tivéssemos o cabelo mais fino do mundo com um toque de s'defination ou o cabelo mais crespo, a opção de o deixar ser como é nunca foi equacionada. Alisar é o remédio ou era o remédio. 

 Many of us ( purposefully as it is, we believe the "back to our roots" team is not composed mainly by females) have dwelt at some questions - Why only now? Why we have to leave my hair "au naturale", became an option? Why are there so many questions and so much stigma towards something that should be well received? We never thought that whether we have the finest hair in the world with a touch of no defination or a more curly hair, the option to let it be as it is never been considered. Straightening is the remedy or was the remedy .

 Queríamos ser como @s noss@s amig@s, queríamos pertencer a um grupo e sabíamos de tenra idade que se assim não fosse, seríamos colocados de parte. Queríamos ser aquilo que víamos e reparem só que nem a Barbie (boneca que recebíamos durante todo o santo ano com um tom bronzeado, cabelo liso e comprido)nos ajudou a superar esta malícia. Teve que aparecer na televisão a série que ligava a mitologia japonesa a figuras muito pouco ortodoxas, para que começássemos a achar piada a cabelos espetados, olhos na testa, homens com carapaça nas costas e passar a acreditar que se encontrássemos as sete bolas de cristal, poderíamos pedir um desejo. 


 We wanted to be like our friends, wanted to belong to a group and we knew from an early age that if it were otherwise, we would be put aside. We wanted to be what we saw and notice that not only Barbie (doll we received throughout the entire year with a tanned, smooth and long hair ) helped us overcome this malice. It had to appear on the television, show that linked Japanese mythology to very unorthodox figures, so that we started to feel joke joy of the spiky hair, forehead eyes, men with shells on the back and start to believe that if we found the seven crystal balls, we could make a wish.

 Aqui, nesta Sociedade, nem uma encontramos quanto mais sete... tivemos que ver estes desenhados animados, exportados do oriente para que se começasse a aceitar o que é diferente. 

 Here, in this society, not one as found further more seven ... we had to see these drawn animated, exported from east to begin accepting what is different.

 Quisemos ser o que os nossos pais tentaram educar, quisemos ser o retrato da Sociedade, preferimos ser o oposto da realidade e nunca quisemos ser nós... 90's you killed us!
